Hi Teresa

Backlighting is tough because if you don't have the right combination of depth to get the bulbs away from the back of the glass and avoid hotspots, and diffusion, again to spread the light around evenly, things can wind up looking pretty miserable.

As for the reflective tape, it is not really intended for a monumental job like you are suggesting. What you can do is put a mirror in the frame right behind the stained glass.
If you do this be sure to use glasses that are not totally dense, so the light can get through to the mirror. A combination of cathedral glasses and very wispy opals works well for this, but first preview some of the glasses you are thinking about on top of a mirror to be sure you like the look.

: My husband and I have been doing glass for 2 years now and would like to make a beach scene for our family room wall. We are planning on using 3 panels. We would like to have it back lit. Do we put some sort of light behind it? Florescent or indirect? I've heard about a reflective tape, do we use this? Any help would be appreciated.
