: : : I am making panes for the nine panes in my front door. They are each 6"x11", so I see no need to reinforce them (Please tell me if I'm wrong!). My problem is, I can't figure out the best way to mount them in place. I was going to caulk, but I understand that's not such a good idea. Any suggestions? This is such a great site and I have learned so much from it. Thanks!

: : It's a new door; actually the glass is one large pane with plastic muntins laid over it (no I don't want to remove the muntins as that would involve goofing up the whole window mounting). I thought keeping the original glass would protect the stained glass panels. Would just caulking the sides or just the tops be enough to hold them without sealing too tightly?
: : No rebar is probibly needed. What type of door? How is the old glass installed? Can you just remove the old glass and install the stained glass?

Without seeing the door I'm guessing> But, if you caulk the SG to the plasic, will the plastic be able to support all that new weight? Also unless you are an expert caulker, odds are the job will look poorly and amateurish.
