Blade on wire saw won't stay put!

I can't seem to get the blade to stay in the shaft of my Gryphon wire saw. I've followed the directions: pushed the blade up into the blade chuck until it stops, tightened the nut, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on holding the blade in place. Help?
