I am not sure where you can find directions for this. My husband made me a light box that is similar to what you are describing. He ended up putting four pieces of wood together and mitered the edges. (You could just match the ends too) Then he used a router with a 1/2" router bit to go along the inside edge of the rectangle. This created an indentation that the glass could just rest in. I use mine as a light box, so the glass comes out, but I bet you could use clear caulking, wood glue or silicone to adhere the glass to the wood. He attached a light to a piece of particleboard the size of the back opening and drilled a hole for the cord from the light to run through. This may not be exactly what you are looking for but might give you ideas on how to start. I bet someone in a lumber store would help you brainstorm also.
Good Luck!
Tammy

: I have made a piece of glass 2'x3'. It sits on the shelf in an office which has no windows. I would like to build a fram for it that also doubles as a light box so the piece can be backlit for display.
: Can anyone recommend where I might find instructions to do this? Thank you!
