Hi Maria,

Bottom line, which material you use is irrelevant. Use the one that your supplier has in a width closest to your 5/8" mullion size.

Here we stock all three materials in 1/2" widths, so the choice would come down to what we find easiest to work with, and that's the lead, unless there are other special considerations.

We used to have 3/4" lead in stock but are out of it and may not restock that size. If you have 3/4" came available to you, the decision will ride on which side of the window is visible from the closest distance and other things about the angle of view etc., as you decide whether to go with the narrower 1/2" or wider 3/4" came.

If you can find 5/8" came, so much the better. Keep in mind, that the further apart the window is from the mullions, the more parallax will play a part in how well the came will coincide visually with the mullions.

:
: I want to make stained glass windows for two window openings that currently have mullions. I don't want to have to remove the mullions because I'd have to have a whole new window installed - without mullions. I purchased two sets of bevel clusters that I'm hoping will work. I want to line up the pattern lines with the mullions and work them into the pattern. The windows are approximately 36 x 22, and the mullions are about 5/8" wide. Would you recommend lead came, brass came, or zinc? The lines are straight.
