Hi Gary,

I don't know of any material about working with the brass, but it is not all that different from working with lead came.

the main things that change are:
1) You have to cut it with a saw. Either a hacksaw, razor saw or a power came saw.

2) You cannot easily bend the metal to conform to curved glass. If you are planning on doing many curved pieces, you should consider buying a came roller. It is a device with three rollers and a crank handle that can help you to curve the came without the leaf closing up on you. (Still, if you are really planning intricate curves you should consider using a "brass crowned came" It is a lead came with a thin brass wrap around the leaf to make it look like brass came while retaining at least some of the flexibility fo lead.)

3) You'll need a gold pen to touch up your solder joints.

: Looking for good instructional information on working with brass came. I'm working on some Frank Lloyd Wright lamps and can't seem to find any reference material on working with this material.
: Books, articles, videos...
: Thanks

: Gary
