Hi Cindy,

The threaded studs are short, about 5/16" or so. They will accept a tapped ball but don't leave room for the star above them.
I did not mention any rods with threaded ends. For that we used regular 1/8" brass rod cut to length and the regular tapped balls. The 1/8" rod is just skinny enough to slip into the tapped balls without having to screw them on, then we solder the balls to the rod by sweat soldering. Heating everything up and letting solder run down into the hole in the ball with the rod inside.
If you do it with the fixture standing on a dead flat surface all four balls will sit evenly on the surface when you are done.

We sell the brass rod and tapped balls here and I suppose we could hook you up.
A six foot 1/8" rod is $2.50 and the 1/2" tapped balls are $.25 each, ($1.00 for the set of four you'd need for one fixture.) Plus s&h.

If you'd like to arrange to order some contact me privately by email. (Just click on my name in the "posted by" line above to send it.)

: I'm making this lamp and I'm looking for a supplier for the brass rods with threaded ends and the ball feet as described in the instructions. Please?
