Hi Joan,

If I've figured it correctly that's about 20 in. by 27".
A copper foil panel of that size may or may not require reinforcement depending on the design of the panel.
As a general rule, the more detailed the panel is, the more pieces of glass in the design, the less need for reinforcement there will be.
Another factor is how the pieces are aligned. If the glass pieces "interlock" they will naturally build strength. If they are just lined up like a row of solders the panel will have a tendency to flex. You will need to add a product like MOrton "Strong Line", or reinforcing braid to a solder line in the panel that is perpendicular to the direction in which the panel is prone to flex.

: I am making my first large panel (51 cm x 69 cm). This mail is comming from Holland and it's very difficult to get good advice over here about glassworks, so I hope you can give me some advice. I am working with copper foil and need to know if you need to reinforce such a big panel, and on what places do you have to do so. Bye the way this is a great side and I am learning a lot by reading all the answers given.
: Thanks.
