Actually what you probably need more than a new iron is a temperature control. It is a box that you plug the iron into that will allow you to run the iron cooler for applications like this that don't require full heat.

We sell three different ones in the shop. The inland phaser is a decent tool at a reasonable price but if money is no object, I'd recommend the Glastar temperature control. As for an iron, my favorite semi-professional iron is the Hakko 456.
