There is no standardized consignment commission. Every shop you deal with sets their own rate and you can take it or leave it, or try to negotiate a better deal.

Typical consignment rates vary between 30% to 40%, but some shops are higher or lower than that. A 30% rate would mean that if you price an item at $100.00 the shop gets to keep $30 and you get the remaining $70.00.

Before leaving your stuff on consignment be sure to get references from other craftspeople who have had satisfactory dealings with the shop. Consignment can go terribly awry if you wind up dealing with the wrong folks.
