I've bought my materials to make a fan lamp. It's a toucan from a past issue of Glass Patterns Quarterly.
The piece is foiled but the outer edge is leaded. I've read through the pattern several times and no where does it say to cement.
From all I've seen and read, lead is cemented...or is the solder going to be enough when I join the lead to the foiled intersections? I'm thinking it's not, the glass is going to rattle in there.
So do I cement this or not? And will the cement process darken my soldering on the foil enough that I won't have to patina it?
Probably a dumb question from a beginner but thought I'd ask anyway.
