If you don't want the expense of a Cutter's Mate, which is the finest glass cutting implement around, get a Toyo pistol grip. Yes, you need oil to cut (or even better, plain kerosene) and NO, thre'a not a cutter made that dispenses oil properly....doesn't drip or just stop. I came to the conclusion long ago that it's an unnatural activity for a cutter to put out the right amount of oil...or ANY oil. SO? stop expecting the impossible. Use a small container (a candle dish, bottle cap or anything that will hold a small piecce of sponge that you can soak with oil (I sometimes use the cubicles on my Morton maxi-cutting surface). DIP your cutter head onto this oil soaked surface frequently as you cut.

There are a LOT of us...professionals and hobbyists alike who belong to the "DIPPERS' CLUB".
Forget all the advice you'll get about the "wick" inside the cutter...pulling it out...cutting it off...kissing it goodnight. Doesn't work. Become a Dipper and watch your cutting improve and your blood pressure go down.

: Just like to have th opinion of wich glass cutter peple preferr. I have the oil hand cutter, but when I start to cut glass a lot of oil leaks out and make the pin line greasy ad rubs off. Does anyone like a different cutter? Thanks
