I'd recommend using galvanized steel wire. something in a 16 or 18 gauge should be plenty stiff. Just be sure to get the wire pre-tinned well before soldering it on as galvanized can be difficult to solder well and you want to be sure that your panel is securely held.

what,specifically, does one use to make the hanging loops if you are going to make your own for small pieces? Copper wire is easy to bend, but seems like it would sag over time. Does it,or, do you use another metal? Thanks Gary!
