Diana, think of it like this... you've got black, silver, and copper backed foil. If you were to use the black backed foil with clear glass and solder your project using no patina (silver colored), when you look through the glass you can see the black part of the foil. As opposed to using the silver back with the strait up solder finish you would barely notice. And so on with the other types of foil. My problem is trying to figure out the type of patina I want to use before I start foiling. :-)
: I am new at this ant have done one project in silver foil. Now I purchased a lot of copper foil to do some christmas gifts but haveno idea what I use to solder with.
: I could use some advice on soldering foil anyway but have not seen a book available. Do you dolder alont the whole foiled area or just in spots.
