My favorite is the ring saw.
It's ability to cut in any direction makes it possible to easily do things that would either be difficult or impossible with the band saws.
It's true that the wire saw will do most of the same stuff, and while I have no first hand experience with them, I have heard that they are a lot slower, (and I think noisier??), even with the new coarser blades. Also, even though the blades seem to be a lot cheaper, they only cut on a very small grit area so they wear out rather quickly.
Anybody else have an opinion???
