For the most part I've got to agree with Angel here. (I'm unfamiliar with the Scoreboard.) Take the class and see if it's for you. The key to learning the Morton system is to take things one step at a time. A good teacher will not try to teach everything in one night. If too much info is given at once you will retain none of it. You need to learn just one or two procedures at a time then repeat them until they are ingrained before you move on.

I get great results with the Scoreboard..have done terrariums and other things which require precise geometric cutting. However, there's always more than one way to do things. Decide for yourself after a Morton class. You will need to use the system frequently to maintain your learning curve. Even some people who teach it need to brush up before classes. Don't BUY the Portable Glass Shop system until you know it's for you. Mine sits in a storage drawer...waste of money for me.
: Shop cloth...Hahaha...these are just heavyweight paper towels made by the Scott Towel Co. They're packaged either in rolls or boxes of 200 and can be found in hardware stores, Home Depot, Sams Club etc. Scott calls them RAGS...but they're paper.
: The soldering iron that Gary and I both like is the Hakko 456, It needs to be used with a temperature controller for best results. It has a ceramic heating element that holds heat without the fluctuations you get in internally controlled Irons or the bad performance of cheap, bad irons.

Angel, I had read your message way back on the system being complicated and confusing. I am not at all good with figures measurements and such I do not have the patience. But I do love the panels and such that they have in the shop that require the system. The people that give the classes say you have to know the system to get the results that they get. Are you saying that you use the Emerald Rainbow Scoreboard and get the same results you would with a Morton? Also, What is a shop cloth? I'm British living in New York never heard of a shop cloth!
