No, Vic, Bricks are used to train Camels.

Am I to understand that you agree with Gary's edge beading instructions to use 50/50 solder because it's "thicker"?

Diane, if I were making an 11" X 12" freeform piece I would put an unbroken piece of 20 or 22 gauge wire all around the edge and bury it in the edge beading. Glass is heavy. It has a tendency to pull itself apart while hanging. I NEVER make freeform pieces without wire edge reinforcement. I'm not of the opinion that simple edge beading adds any strength. I've even had wired pieces fall from their hangings with no breakage, but I've also seen many of the ones without wire just begin to separate with time (not mine) .

: : Just recently I completed cutting and coppering a free standing sun catcher that measures 11x12. I am now ready to solder the project. I was reading somewhere that in order to have the same thickness on the outer fringe of the project as the thickness created within (two pieces soldered together) that you could solder with copper tinning all around the project. If this is something that works well, how do you handle the odd shaped glass piece, soldering iron, solder and copper tinning all at once.

: : I must comment that in looking at other help sites yours is, in my opinon, far superior.

: The only thing to add to Gary, is, get 2 bricks. Put 1 in front and 1 behind the glass to hold it up.
