I have made a huge lampshade, and was VERY careful about the soldering, waiting, and waiting, so I didn't get it too hot.As this is my first lampshade, I am not sure of the correst terms for it, but when assembeling the shade, in class,I was told to PILE on the solder, to strenghthen, while assembeling. Which I did, and all was well...until I went home and continued to finish the final soldering, I had the inside done, and went to the outside, there was soooooo much solder, that when I tried to heat it off the BLOBS of solder broke a long thin pane on each side.
The panes are on the upper edge of the shade, where a 6" lamp cover will be placed, so the 3/4" edges are exposed to the top of the lamp. The pieces are approximatly 3/4' x 7 3/4", the entire lampshade is 17 1/2" bottom and 6" at the top. I need to replace those two pieces of glass and have no idea how to do it.ANY and ALL suggestions will be deeply appreciated ! Thank You !
