HI Lynne,

The Inland Fume trap is one of those tools that is OK as far as it goes.

If placed within about 7" to 10" of the soldering it does a pretty good job of pulling fumes away from your face. The filter is not HEPA or that fine and will not remove everything that passes through it, but in general it is still a whole bunch better than nothing at all and the price is way cheaper than any competing product that I'm aware of. (Of course if you have the option of just venting your fumes outside, that is the best way to go.)

On the other side of the coin, it is not well put together and the plastic grill work doesn't fit properly. I have had to resort to using rubber bands and other simple schemes to hold it together, but in the end I still use it.
