I know that there was some discussion among the retailers in RAGS about this problem a couple of months ago but don't remember the outcome of the whole thing because we rarely sell that iron in our shop and wasn't really following the discussion. The best I can say is that you are not alone in experiencing this.

: Thanks for your input, Lorelei. I bought some shop towels yesterday. I'm also going to call Cooper Tools today (I couldn't find an email link on their sight) and see what they have to say about their tips and what kind of flux they recommend.
