Each saw has its' advantages and liabilities and it all depends on what you need.
That said, since you say you are a professional I must assume that you need the saw to make extraordinary cuts, since the routine stuff you should be able to handle with ease much quicker than any saw can cut.
If that is the case, I would recommend the wire saw. While the bandsaw will cut somewhat quicker and be a bit easier to control as well, there are cuts that it just can't do that the wire saw can.
The wire saw can make "inside cuts". This means that if you start by drilling a hole in the glass, the wire saw blade can be slipped through the hole to cut a shape out of the middle of the glass, but more importantly, the wire saw can cut in any direction. The importance of this doesn't become apparent until you try to cut a horseshoe shape notch into a large piece of glass. With the bandsaw, everything starts out alright, but as you rotate the glass to make the cut, all of a sudden a nasty reality sets in. The piece of glass hits the tower that the blade returns through and you can't complete your cut. This is not a problem with the wire saw since you don't need to rotate the glass to keep the blade cutting straight ahead. You simply feed the glass in, starting by pushing it forward, but since you can cut sideways or even as you draw the glass toward you, you never need to be concerned about the tower getting in the way. Also, the blades are cheaper per inch of glass cut.

As for the best deal, I don't know about anybody else, but we are currently selling the wire saw for $269.95 US plus shipping at cost of shipping plus $1.50 handling.
