I also selected the wire saw over the other products available, mostly for the cost. As mentioned I was a little disapointed in two areas. Guide wear and the water system. So I modifed the saw to accept brass inserts in the guides and added a closed water loop system to the saw. You can check out the pictures on the following URL. Once these modifications are done it makes for a very excellent and dependable saw.
