Thanks! "The fact that you're using a cordless drill *might* have some bearing as they are usually not as powerful as corded ones,

Do you use a corded Dremel with your water method? Isnt that dangerous?
Thanks

: I make a lot of whindchimes and I use a hand held Dremel with a diamond coated bit. It looks just like a long needle almost. Pointed at the end.

: Be sure you're using lots of water, I submerge my pieces in a shallow pan with a sheet of rigid styrofoam beneath them.

: The fact that you're using a cordless drill *might* have some bearing as they are usually not as powerful as corded ones, but I highly doubt it's making that much of a problem. It sounds more like your drill bit has lost it's diamond coating. They do wear out after a little while, and if you've drilled dry, they wear out REAL quick. If you're using lots of water as I stated above, you should get tons of holes out of one bit. (like say.. ohh.. 50 or so anyway)
