In GlassEye, you import the picture as a background and then use the program to draw the pattern over the top of that background picture. The program doesn't actually convert the picture, you have to draw the pattern using the picture as a guide.

They just released a version with an auto trace fuction though. The auto trace feature will automatically trace a pattern from a line drawing. It will not work from a colored picture. But this feature is only available on the pro plus edition.
