Hi Laura,

You did not mention just how large the panel is.
If it is over 16" in diameter you need to be concerned about reinforcing the panel too.

As for the basic question, here's how I'd go about it.
Use a came bender, the type with three wheels and a crank like the Cascade bender to create a nice ring of brass or zinc came.
Cut the ring in half and use your nails to place the bottom half of the ring onto your cartoon, then start adding glass and lead into the ring starting in the middle (bottom) of the half ring.
Keep adding glass and came until the entire panel is leaded, then add the top half ring to finish it up.

: I have a very geometric pattern that I would like to do in lead - I have done a few pieces in lead before. My question is that the panel is round, how do you go about leading the panel - without a jig? Do I prepare my Zinc frame and work inward? Then if you do that how do you fit the last pieces?

: Thanks for any and all help.

: Laura
