You will get your best results with any patina if you do it asap after the soldering is done.

Perhaps you could patina the whole panel except for the places that will need to be soldered on site, then give a vigorous cleaning to the little bits that were left undone before applying the patina.

: Very interesting about the black patina. What about copper? I am doing an 8" window and need solder it in sections, bring to the site and then solder the whole thing together. This might take a couple of days. I only have an hour or two per day to work on this project. Any suggestions and I was wondering if I could wait before I patina. Thanks for any help!
