KRISTINA'S RESPONSE:

I wish I could send a simple diagram.

The stained glass panel will be set into the aluminum window frame from the outside. There is a lip inside the window frame that stops it from going forward beyond the middle of the frame.

THEN I plan to put the cut double strength glass piece against the back of the stained glass panel. The zinc frame of the stained glass panel will (barely) keep the glass & stained glass from touching.

THEN I planned to run a silicone bead around the glass, and finally screw on the aluminum bar trim on all 4 sides of the window that secures the glass in place.

The silicone would seal the window from the outside weather. The stained glass panel would sit against the inner aluminum lip for some air exchange (due to no caulk).

Is this clear or only harder to picture?

The purpose is to make it weather tight, not to stop breakage.

Should this be ok?
