I have a large leaded glass door with a horizonal rebar soldered to the jonts. The rebar solder joint broke and I attempted to resolder it with my 100/140 watt soldering gun without success. My questions are:
What wattage soldering gun/iron is appropriate for this application?
What solder should I be using (50/50 or 60/40)?
Is one flux better than another for this application?
Can you give me an overview of the soldering process to use?
Thanks in advance for any responses. My soldering experience is limited to electronics and this soldering application is out of my comfort zone. I have read what I could find on the internet, including a few links obtained from your BB. However, I could not find anything specifically dealing with soldering large rebar (1/8" x 1/2").
Thanks again,
Keith
