Lu, do I understand that this window will be exposed to the outside weather? If that's the case you need to know that stained glass windows are usually installed behind a piece of plain window glass to protect them. Nobody uses them in exterior openings in modern installations. Some are even installed inside of double glazed-gas filled windows or behind them. You need some expert help and recommendations on this one. There is a matter of properly venting them during installation. I would ask Vic or Guy Somers or some of the window experts on the 'net. In the archives on Warner-Criv you will find a lot of messages on this subject. A simple window installer won't know this. You need stained glass window expertise.

------------------------------------------

: I am a novice at stained glass and have a question about a project I am about to undertake. The panel I will be doing is 18" X 25" (for me a big project). The panel is going to be set into a wall as a window. I have someone to put it in the window and frame for me so that is no problem but is there something special that I need to do to the window itself to protect it from the elements? With something this size do I need to worry about support of any kind running through the panel? If I don't so something correctly since I am not a pro by any means, am I going to have a sagging/leaking window in a few years?
