Gryphon Wire Saw Questions

IS this a worthwhile saw for the hobbyist/small studio. From all the reviews I have read its much cheaper to maintain and to replace blades than the Tarus II (which I have heard is a maintaninece nightmare). Why is this one seemingly "less popular" and definatly less expensive.
