I am fairly new to stained glass, and I have never worked with came. I do not have the luxury of a "great" local resource and I have learned everything thus far from library books, the Internet (this BB has been a HUGE HELP) and trial and error. I would love some detailed answers to the following questions:

1) I understand that the measurements on came refer to the outer "face". Is 1/4" the standard? 3/8 seems a little wide??

2) When you stretch Lead came...how far do you stretch it? Is it evident once you put it in the lead vise and begin pulling?

3) I was going to use lead came for the interior pieces and zinc for the outer edges. I can't find any reason why this is unacceptable.

4) Do you literally shape the came by bending it around your cut piece of glass, or do you put it on your “pattern” and shape it that way?

Anything else I should know?? I know I am asking alot of questions, but I would be greatly appreciatve if someone had the time to answer :). Because of length of potential response, feel free to email cgm@elltel.net

THANKS !!!
